New You forgot to mention
Canada geese attack in packs. If you're eating a sandwich on a park bench, and they decide they want the bread now, you damn well better run like a little girl.

You describe the carving process as a bit difficult. Some pics would be nice. (Though I can understand that would be difficult with the slippery hands and all. You got a tripod and remote shutter yet? Put the remote in a Ziploc bag and go to town.)

I'd put the background back in the shot of the two swan heads. With that tight crop, they look like CG.

New Thanks for the comments.
I'm not familiar with Canada geese, there aren't any around here, so I didn't know about their propensity for gang violence - but I'll work it in.

As for carving, that'll have to wait for the next goose. It was way too messy figuring out how to handle this first one.

As for the head shot (of geese, not swans) I didn't take that picture (cost me a whole $1 US to buy (non-exclusive) rights) and the background was already stripped out, I just tinted it slightly to match my page background. I might select a different shot later.
