Not so me too
Thankfully I've got a reasonable collection of offline friends. However, I am intimately acquainted with melancholia. It's caused me to some rather bad career limiting maneuvers. To make things difficult I'm now out of work and the job market here is tight. On top of that the unemployment benefit here in Oz is pitiful at best and is managed on the assumption that all receipients are potential fraudsters. Oh and to make matters worse I'm living in an area classified as low unemployment, so if I move elsewhere to try my luck I'd immediately be subject to severe penalties in payment. Just to put it in perspective the maximum suplement without 'extras' is AU$260 per fortnight. To get the extras requires going through a lot of beuracratic hurdles on top of those just to get the basic supplement. And this is supposed to provide assistance while looking for work... Not only that I've got a friend whose bi-polar and is in the throes of a pretty intense episode. On top of that she's started to develop some paranoia. It's bloody hard for a depressive to just be there for a bi-polar. Especially since she's starting to alienate herself from her close friends.

No, no, the (certified) crazy one is . .
. . not particularly paranoid, just loony (and subject to depression). The paranoid one is Rose (not her real name (which is also not her real name)), my accounting person, who prefers the terms "privacy" and "prudence" (and is quite concerned that the things I say about Microsoft could negatively impact her job security).
Of course, who am I to point fingers? I'm in the "Information Technology" business, prima facia evidence that there's bats in the bell tower.

Good news
Happiness, My bi-polar friend has started to become 'normal'. She's responded to her medication and therapy and sorted out a few issues. It's reassuring to know that I'm not one of those issues that had to be abandoned. We, being her, myself and her flatmate had a great pig-out on pancakes for Shrove Tuesday. Yum!!!!
