It looks like Mother Nature really hammered your state today!

"Chicago to my mind was the only place to be. ... I above all liked the city because it was filled with people all a-bustle, and the clatter of hooves and carriages, and with delivery wagons and drays and peddlers and the boom and clank of freight trains. And when those black clouds came sailing in from the west, pouring thunderstorms upon us so that you couldn't hear the cries or curses of humankind, I liked that best of all. Chicago could stand up to the worst God had to offer. I understood why it was built--a place for trade, of course, with railroads and ships and so on, but mostly to give all of us a magnitude of defiance that is not provided by one house on the plains. And the plains is where those storms come from." -- E.L. Doctorow

New Lucky so far
It's my term break so I'm off anyway. The night before, I went to the supermarket to stock up, so we have a full pantry, plus light, heat and running water. Not to mention Internet access and plenty of DVDs.

My main concern was (and still is) power outages, which are not uncommon around these parts. At this point our one concession to this is a hand-cranked flashlight/FM radio gizmo.

The snow's finally stopped, but most places will still be closed tomorrow (Friday) and we'll still be digging out all over metro Denver.

Rube: You like spaghetti, George? I like spaghetti. I like board games. I like grabbing a trifecta with that longshot on top. That ozone smell you get from air purifiers. And I like knowing the space between my ears is immeasurable. Mahler's first, Bernstein conducting. You've got to think about all the things you like and decide whether they're worth sticking around for. And if they are, you'll find a way to do this.
George: And what if I don't?
Rube: Then you go away, and you don't get to like anything anymore.

New Digging out
I work from home, so today was like any other day. Will be digging out tomorrow, though - wife has to go back to work. It was a miserable mess yesterday afternoon and into the evening.
