I can see the attraction.
But I normally use a single-cup drip filter: this is basically two cups inside one another - the inner one has small holes in the bottom and the outer one has a fine metal mesh on the bottom. You spoon in grounds in the outer one, put the inner one in, put both on top of your mug and put in boiling water. After about a minute, you lift it off, rinse both bits under the cold tap, add suger, milk, whatever to your mug. At home, I usually use instant.
I'm not a connoisseur of coffee to a huge extent; I'm just a little fussy. I have particular instant blends I prefer (and some I refuse to use) and particular types of coffee beans I use in the drip filter (I use hand-grinder, too).
