Hmmm - not sure if thermocouple wire is long enough to poke through a wire loom access hole, right into cab; hang xmitter up under dash == no need to worry about under-hood temps for the xmitter. Wouldn't really need the 'wireless' aspect, but guess it saves running wires in a busy enviro.

Now if I straighten the sensor tip, wire it to dipstick: Viola!
Sure is a lotta stuff for 20, worth a crap shoot on placement.
No Lowes here, will see where else it surfaces.
