w/o doing a MS-style hack job and without losing the current pluses...if they have a good software engineering team. Maybe the BeOS guys will help.
I frankly don't want a "PocketPC". I don't want to watch movies on my PDA. I don't want to pay $600 for my PDA. And so on. VisorCentral also thinks PocketPC 2002 s/w is pretty bad -- too many taps to do normal tasks.
However, I'm seriously considering getting the new Sony Clie T615 (I would keep my Visor). I'm not happy with Handspring's emphasis on Treo / de-emphasis on Springboard (although I understand it; the Treo has got rave reviews). The Sony screen is simply superb, even better than the N610C, the case is aluminum, and it does have much more of a quality feel than the Prism.
Fry's has refurbished Prisms at $199; new ones are about $300. But although the Prism screen is bright, it isn't even close to the Clie's 320x320 screen.
