New nfs locking is not an issue
as long as both client and server are suns :-) I do like NFS4 but wish there was a compression layer to keep bandwidth usage down.

New Locking on NFS is an issue, even with SUN machines.
Its an ALL or nothing type of thing.

There in is my gripe. The Locking daemons for any of the machines all do this.

I just wish you were able to do partial/range locks like you can on a local file.
