New Anybody got a copy of VB 3?
Does anybody have a set of VB 3.0 diskettes that they can sell me, copy for me, or burn onto a CD-ROM? This pertains to my situation posted here

I've found that using an old backup hard drive that has Win95 original on it, that had VB 3 installed, will allow a program to run and not pop up the ODBC "Select Data Source" box, so the brute forcer cracker program that I wrote can run unattended. I'm trying to get in via DAO, but something internally thinks otherwise. For attempting all variations of an 8 byte password, I figure around 8 - 12 weeks. (I know, just buy a freaking break-in program. But I live in an apartment in one city and the wife and kids life in the house in another city. It's not a divorce situation.) She sees the credit card bills first and is already bitching over the costs involved in the separation, and I'm not eating out or boozing it up every night either. I'm using a spare machine built and donated by a generous IWETHEY benefactor (thanks Darrell!)

There is the possibilty of being able to use a spare machine or two at work over weekends, using my own hard drives temporaryily installed, and I need to use VB 3 for unattended running. Haven't seen any copies on eBay when I last looked, and most second hand software stores are out of business nowadays.

Anybody?

New Sorry Bit-rot ate my VB3 floppies
VB3 was back when VB came on a set of floppy disks. I think about 12 of them or so. But about half of them went bad, so I pitched them out. They went bad when VB 5.0 came out and MS no longer supported VB 3.0 replacement disks.

I hate to say it, but check out the (cough cough) WAREZ (cough cough) websites and IRC channels. Or get Bareshare or some other GNUTELLA based sharing program and see if you can find a copy.

Either that or try to find a used computer shop that sells used software. We have a local one here called [link|http://www.a-zuc.com/|"A to Z used Computers"] they would sell used copies of older versions of DOS, Windows, Games, etc. If you want, their phone number is on the web page, give them a call and see if they will sell a used copy of Visual BASIC 3.0 to you.

"Will code Visual BASIC for cash."
