Looking for FTP program recommendations
I've used WS_FTP LE for several years now, and have been very happy with it.
Tonight I tried to install it onto my box with Win XP SP2, but it's too old for this OS - program won't even install.
Can anybody recommend a free FTP program?

"Chicago to my mind was the only place to be. ... I above all liked the city because it was filled with people all a-bustle, and the clatter of hooves and carriages, and with delivery wagons and drays and peddlers and the boom and clank of freight trains. And when those black clouds came sailing in from the west, pouring thunderstorms upon us so that you couldn't hear the cries or curses of humankind, I liked that best of all. Chicago could stand up to the worst God had to offer. I understood why it was built--a place for trade, of course, with railroads and ships and so on, but mostly to give all of us a magnitude of defiance that is not provided by one house on the plains. And the plains is where those storms come from." -- E.L. Doctorow

ncftp is very good too.
It's free, too.

I vote here.
As I use ncftp on Linux when I need to browse and I don't want to be a bad person and use a gackful browser to have more than one connection open.
Though, most of the time I use [link|http://www.gnu.org/software/wget/index.html#downloading|wget].

Didn't he say a **free** FTP?
$39.95 != free; $59.95 != free, either.
YMMV....

Hey -- I'm cheap
but since I admit it, I don't feel guilty about it.

What on Earth makes you think that makes up for it?
D oyou think "Hey, I'm a degenerate rapist / mass murderer, but since I admit it, I don't feel guilty about it" works, too?
If it doesn't work in that case, then why should it work in yours?

What makes you think it doesn't work?
I can't say from personal experience, but I imagine that some sociopaths carry no guilt for their behavior exactly because they admit it to themselves. "Oh well, just my nature. Carry on..."

Why on Earth should I feel guilty for it?
it would accomplish nothing.

I've used FileZilla a lot.
I've used [link|http://sourceforge.net/projects/filezilla/|FileZilla] a lot. It is a great program for exploring a remote site and moving a few things around. It doesn't automate though if your looking for batch transfers.
