New Quicktime f*cked up my system
I had just downloaded the latest version of Quicktime a few days ago to view movie trailers. Apparently the other programs that viewed Quicktime movies couldn't work due to some compression format or some other crap. I was burned on Quicktime before, but I thought by now that Apple would get their act together.

Nothing else was installed on my system recently, not for a long time. I install QT5 setup, it downloads the latest files. I reboot the system and bring up IE, QT squaks about file formats it uses being registered to other programs, and asks me if I want to fix it. I choose no, and it locks up my system. BSOD, system not responding, after 15 minutes, I power down and back on as I was getting no response from Windows. I load up my browser again, it asks me the question again, I choose yes this time, BSOD and it locks up. Reboot yet again, this time I am told that the Registry is not valid and it is restoring to an older version. Now my Norton Antivirus tells me it is out of date again, other programs squak about missing registry settings, and DirectX reports that some program that was recently installed had put older versions of files in the system directory for DirectX. It reboots to fix them. Now everytime I view a QT5 movie, it locks the system up. I tried an uninstall and reinstall, no luck. I have the latest QT 5 files, and patches.

Apple still, does not know sh*t about writing WINTEL software! I hate Apple because of this, and they really had their software f*ck up my system! I guess it is a RRR without installing QT next time. Any alternatives to QT that can deal with the compression and other issues that break Windows Media Player 7.1 and other software that can view Quicktime movies? I hope the Apple programs who designed the Windows version of Quicktime rot in Hell forever with demons poking them in the eye sockets and other body orifices with red hot pokers! I hate them, I hate them with all my being, I hate them a lot! I hate them as much as the AOL and Microsoft programmers that also write crap code!

New Are you sure it's Apple?
Microsoft has been known to change things with Windows and Internet Exploiter in the past to break Quicktime. Microsoft is also active into media now.

Not that dissimiliar to the tweeks they kept doing to break OS/2's support of Win3.x software.

New I am sure
I tried it on a Cyrix 6X86 80Mhz system I have running Windows 95 OSR2 and it did the same thing minus the DirectX problem. I also tried using 98Lite on Windows 98 to install it without the IE and Media Player, and it did the same thing. I've lost some sleep over this doing software reinstalls and RRRs.

No other software that I have worked with has caused this problem. I've tried it on different hardware, different versions of Windows, and different configurations. QT5 is currently being boycotted by me, until they fix the shit code!
