A Louisiana school district suspended a white bus driver while it investigates complaints that she ordered nine black children to sit at the back of the bus.
No previous complaints have been lodged against the driver, who has worked several years for the Red River Parish school district, school Superintendent Kay Easley said Thursday. She refused to reveal the driver's name.
No previous complaints against the driver, but just moved to a new route. Gave out assigned seating, which put all of the black kids at the back. This might be miscommunication or some monsterous coincidence based on spelling of their last names. But I don't think so.

A pastor who says his congregation voted not to accept black membership has resigned. The church says it never made such a decision.
The Rev. John Stevens says Fellowship Baptist Church in Saltillo voted not to approve blacks as members during a scheduled Sunday night business meeting Aug. 6. Because of the decision, Stevens stepped down from the Baptist Missionary Alliance congregation that has an average Sunday morning attendance of 30 people.
Even less likely to be misscomunication, though the members of the church that have not resigned are quickly trying to deny it. And I do like seeing that the pastor and a local police officer who was a member both bailed as soon as they learned of the vote. No trying to justify or ignore it.
Racism in the US is fading away, but incidents like these should firmly remind us that it is still a problem and that many specific individuals are still quite racist. The only positive sign I see here is that both organizations immedietly moved to squash problems, even if only to minimize the lawsuit damage. Even 50 years ago, I can see people saying that this wasn't important or that there was nothing wrong with that behavior.
