Beautiful inside shots of a rather old observatory.
Hurt me if you must, but let the duckie go!

Yeah, I used to hang around up there . . .
Pretty cool old stuff - and yes, it was already old in the '60s. Lots of hollow echoey clanking, groaning and banging all night up there.

Re: Yeah, I used to hang around up there . . .
In '50s, via my first freedom-wheels: a Whizzer motor bike (bicycle + motor) I wanted to ride from Pacific Beach to There. My mater saith No!
(Maybe wisely.. but it wasn't That big a deal; it was reliable - I was too, sorta.. 'Course it would have helped if I'd had a license.)
Oh well. Lucky you.

The most amazing thing though was not the telescopes . . .
. . but finding a place where I could look down and see over 1000 square miles of city lights seemingly right at my feet.

No - that was the Griffith Observatory.
From Mount Wilson the whole of Griffith Park (4,210 acres) is just a black lump in the sea of lights.

Photos are blocked from here: nudity
Chyeah, right. And I didn't know why they were getting blocked until I copied the location of one of them and tried to view just the photo instead of the page.
