New Re: Two Bombs found on German trains on July 31.
Pity.. every one of these, detonated or not.. broadens the Base for Rovian fearmongering with all. the. organ. stops. pulled. including Swell to Great ~ September 11, I Wot.

Tendentious times.

New :-) Not may people know about Swell To Great
Mostly Wurlitzer, IIRC

New All real pipe organs..
"Swell to Great" pipe organ gets 9K hits, for a start.

Anyway, I've seen that stop (in imaginitive calligraphy) on several, but am a neophyte re the intricacies of huge pipe organs; a hint of their complexity can be noted at

Dunno where Wurlitzer fits, beyond theatre organs (another genre) but to many,
Hammond:Real Organ::military music:music

Cthulhu I despise that horrific tremolo! and All.. the 'voices'.

New And that one has only four manuals (plus pedalboard). :-)
It's been a long long time since I got the chance to look at a pipe organ's console.

Wade.
"Insert crowbar. Apply force."
New My dad used to maintain one in Chicago
A 3 console Wurlitzer in the old Trianon ballroom off on Ashland (IIRC) of 63rd. He'd occasionally take me down there when eh went on one of his bi-monthly pilgrimages to the Shrine of Pipes. Actaully had me help him tune it 9at the ripe old age of 3...)

Every once in a while, he'd bring home some of the old wood pipes for repair. neer forget the contortions he wnet through trying to get the 32' pipe into the basement so he could repair some cracks in it.

Jeez, that was a long time ago!

And yes, it had a Swell to Great stop. and a Accompaniment to Great as well....)

New And here's me thinking General Midi was complex :-)
Two out of three people wonder where the other one is.
New Think General MIDI, using air instead of a UART....

This is all frightfully unimportant, but since when has that been a reason not to post?
