New [IWELardies] How y'all doing weightwise?
I think I've hit a (good) plateau; I'm currently weighing at about 210-215, and have been for some time. Somebody took a body fat measurement with calipers on me, and I hit 20% body fat, with the ideal range being 15-18%. Since I'm so close, I've redirected my goal to building muscle now. I'm now eating 3,000(!) calories a day, and doing some seriously intense workouts in the gym. Throw this in with my new hobby (swing dancing) and my bicycle/foot-based activity schedule, and you're talking to somebody who will be seriously ripped in a month or two.

On the other hand, bringing home all the groceries without a car is a SERIOUS pain in the ass. I'm thinking about making two trips a week at this point...
Hurt me if you must, but let the duckie go!
New Decent.
I'm down 5-10 pounds from where I was at the BeepBash in '05. I'm down around 20 pounds from when I started recording my weight *daily* almost 2 years ago.

So, I'm bouncing between 195-200 right now. Would like to take another 10-15 off...But there's no real motivation to just yet. And no time to ride the bike like I used to, either. :(

Last year, I was able to qualify for the "super-healthy" rate on my life insurance...And that's after height/weight/blood tests. So I'll take it.

New Pretty good
I bounce between 165 and 175, depending on whether on on Atkins or not. When not, I can easily pick up 5-10 pounds of water which disapears almost immediately when starting the diet again.

I had hit 159, declared victory, and stopped the diet. But 159 is too low for me, I can't maintain it.

Workout between 2 and 4 times a week. Yesterday I ate big, so this morning I burned a thousand calories on the eliptical to balance out. This was 2 days of exercise in a row, which is rare for me.

I've moved from the easy crunches to the vertical situps. Those are HARD.

I installed a chin-up bar about 3 weeks ago in my downstairs bathroom doorway, and do between 50 and 100 pullups every day, in sets of 10.

My appetite is lower than it used to be, and my muscle tone is very good.
New swing dancing? Envisions girl, swing, hole in swing....

New Bad box! No biscuit!
:D

When I finally get back on Jabber, I have some tales to tell... And no, not THOSE kinds of tales.

At least not yet...

New Router problem.
This has happened before. I know Linux doesn't by default have a DNS cache, but once the box tries to use my QWest DSL router as the DNS, it won't properly resolve names any more. The last time this happened, I ended up having to delete my user profile (!) AND wipe and reload my OS in order to fix it.

I know. It sounds impossible. Before wiping and reloading, I logged in as root and renamed my user profile, still had the problem. Put my user profile back in place (/home is on a seperate partition) and wiped the system. Brought the system back up, still had problem. Renamed /home/inthane, logged in, problem went away.

I have no idea what that router does to my system, but whatever it does is fucking nasty. I'm waiting on getting a new DSL router that doesn't have linux compatibility issues before reworking the system.

New remove the "zeroconf" package
Once you do that, it should return to normal.

New Two trips a week?
Damn, dude, you should be picking up something fresh every day. Throw a little basket on your bike -- they seem less fruity if you get the one that mounts over the rear wheel instead of the front, why is that? -- and you can come home with tonight's dinner and tomorrow's breakfast daily.

New Time is the problem.
The only market worth going to around here is not near my work, and not near the gym - in fact, it's on the other side of a fairly major hill. To get there by bus is an hour and a half round trip - it's actually faster by bicycle.

This is the problem with living in "suburbia"* and trying to bicycle everywhere. There is exactly one grocery store on this side of the hill, in the same complex as the gym I go to. Saying that their produce sucks would be too kind - I got plums from them once that would have made better slingshot ammunition than food, and tried to sun them to soften them up. After four days, they went moldy, but were still like rocks.

* Suburbia for relative values of suburbia - West Seattle isn't exactly suburbia.
