I started a workout with [link|http://www.dignews.com/review.php?story_id=13241|Kinetic] this week on my PS2. It uses the Eye Toy camera to put you into interactive games which are designed around 4 fitness zones: Combat, Cardio, Toning and Mind & Body. Kinetic comes with the Eye Toy as well as a lens adapter that expands the field of vision. Luckily enough, my family room is big enough that I don't need the adapter as I accidently gave it to my dad when I gave him the camera to use as a web cam(I already have an Eye Toy camera hooked up from a prior game).
You can free form the games or choose a personal trainer which sets up a 12 week plan based on your input of age, weight, activity level and so on. I opted for the 12 week plan. It has you workout 3 times a week: Sun/Mon, Tue/Wed and Thu/Fri/Sat.
The start of each workout begins with a warmup routine. After that are some games that Kinetic picks out(so far I've had 2 each day, don't know if that will change), followed by a routine that you get to choose. The session then wraps up with some stretching.
The games it picks out are from the 4 fitness zones. Combat games are short in duration, but intense, while cardio games last the longest and keeps you moving the whole time. Toning, is well Toning, while Mind & Body has things inspired from Yoga and Tai Chi.
I've just finished my 3rd working. After each workout my cloths were drenched and I'm currently feeling like I did back in high school when football practice started up so I gather it must be working :-)
