I say get over it. The "problem" isn't going to go away, it's going to become ubiquitous. What's really being called for is [link|http://www.freeswan.org/intro.html|S/WAN]. The problem isn't that unencrypted data might be captured when transmitted across radio links, it's that unencrypted data are being spewed without consideration by every device on the 'Net.

You might as well command the tides to stop.

they also ban CD-ROM and DVD drives for the user machines. They don't want anyone listening to music or watching DVD movies while on the job. Any software that needs to be installed will be done by a tech, that uses a corp server with a CD mounted on it for the install to the user's workstation.
