reuters admits publishing dodgy photographs
[link|http://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7340,L-3286966,00.html|http://www.ynetnews....L-3286966,00.html] Reuters' head of PR Moira Whittle said in response: "Reuters has suspended a photographer until investigations are completed into changes made to a photograph showing smoke billowing from buildings following an air strike on Beirut. Reuters takes such matters extremely seriously as it is strictly against company editorial policy to alter pictures." same fellow that denies he staged the qana pictures. Sure, thanx, bill

Uncorroborated.
Blogs aren't evidence. Can't find anything on Google News about this. Nothing on Reuters' site.
And ynetnews is an Israeli site.
Mind you, the Qana thing seems to be in the same conspiracy theory bucket as this with respect to the complete and utter disinterest taken in it by the mainstream news media.
But hey ho. That sort of thing is grist to the tinfoil hatter's mill.

The picture isn't on Reuters any more.
[link|http://photos.reuters.com/news/newssearchresults.aspx?srch=Beirut&searchtype=p|Linky]. The 2nd link on that page is: Smoke billows from burning buildings destroyed during an overnight Israeli air raid on Beirut's suburbs August 5, 2006. Many buildings were flattened during the attack. REUTERS/Adnan Hajj No picture is available there. The links above and below it do show pictures. It does seem to have been pulled. FWIW. Cheers, Scott.

Confirmed by Reuters themselves
[link|http://www.alertnet.org/thenews/newsdesk/N07348592.htm|Reuters withdraws all photos by Lebanese freelance]
Reuters withdrew all 920 photographs by a freelance Lebanese photographer from its database on Monday after an urgent review of his work showed he had altered two images from the conflict between Israel and the armed group Hizbollah.
Global Picture Editor Tom Szlukovenyi called the measure precautionary but said the fact that two of the images by photographer Adnan Hajj had been manipulated undermined trust in his entire body of work.

Damn, it's not even a *good* fake
Strange thing is, he had an actual picture that really showed just what he "wanted" it to show. But he didn't think people were sufficiently incensed as the injustice of it all. So he punched it up a bit.
Now honest people have a reason to question everything they're seeing, and partisans have an excuse to deny everything. Ironic justice: both sides are guilty of this. (No, I'm not saying the Israelis have doctored photos, but that they exaggerate the truth for effect, damaging their credibility in the process.)

Corroborated. Thanks for actual sources.
Doesn't exonerate the IDF from anything, before bluke starts getting excited; the originals aren't exactly "looky here, we didn't blow none of that Lebanese shit up, y'hear? We're only going for MILITARY targits, honest injun!"
Photographer = fuckwit. IDF = unchanged.
