C++ and STL?
Bleah. It's not THAT cool a job.
Stupid requirement, too, since a lot of scientific and numerical computing is done in Java these days, since it's pretty much just as fast as C++ for that kind of work.

Re: C++ and STL?
My friend the theoretical physicist says that all the real hard stuff is still done in FORTRAN. Certainly the stuff that runs on things like the Fermi cluster is predominantly FORTRAN.
But hey ho, back to the job advert.
I reckon what they mean when they say "passionate" is really "willing to work for arse-all money".

Who cares? It's putting s**t in space?
And who just might be first in line for crash-test dummies test passengers for the first round of user acceptance trials?

Sorry
