Kent Hovind arrested for tax violations
[link|http://www.ncseweb.org/resources/news/2006/FL/470_kent_hovind_arrested_on_federa_7_14_2006.asp|National Center for Science Education] Kent Hovind, the evangelist who styles himself "Dr. Dino" and runs the Creation Science Evangelism ministry as well as Dinosaur Adventure Land, a small creationist theme park in Pensacola, Florida, was arrested on July 13, 2006, on fifty-eight federal charges. The Pensacola News-Journal (July 14, 2006) reports that in court Hovind professed not to understand the basis for the indictment: "I still don't understand what I'm being charged for and who is charging me," he said. The News-Journal adds that Hovind "has been sparring with the IRS for at least 17 years on his claims that he is employed by God, receives no income, has no expenses and owns no property." Hovind is one of the most active and annoying creationists. Apparently he has been claiming that he and everybody that works for him is a missonary and therefor doesn't have to pay federal wage taxes. If nothing else this should distract him from trying to mess up schooling for a while, and if we are lucky he might spend some time in jail. Jay

OK, let's try this:
The theme park's theme:
"Don't know much abou history, Don't know much biology, Don't own the land upon which I play, Don't know how much tax to pay. But I do know that "God(h) Loves You", And I know that if you Love Him, too, What a wonderful world it would be!"
jb4 "So don't pay attention to the approval ratings that say 68% of Americans disapprove of the job this man is doing. I ask you this, does that not also logically mean that 68% approve of the job he's not doing? Think about it. I haven't." — Stephen Colbert, at the White House Correspondent's Dinner 29Apr06

Maybe Florida, but God has no property rights in California.
That was settled decades ago when similar claims were made.
