AFAIK, only Religious Zionists argue that Israel is a gift from God.
And aren't they the "hard right faction" that the more moderate politicians are always trying to placate? They quote scripture the way some Americans quote the Constitution: While they may believe in it, their fervor for particular passages is selective.
