We always hope for a solid hit early Friday but can't predict when(/if) customers will decide to show up. Would holding the banquette work for you folks? It has three tables, we can easily fit in a fourth. It has an L shaped bench and we can fit in a bunch of chairs too. I should be to hold that without upsetting anyone; we wouldn't need any guaranteed minimum. We can probably easily fit 12 people in there comfortably. If you scale up to 25, we can rearrange other customers around the room within reason as tables and coveted bar seats open up, and push together a bunch of tables by the window for you all. 2) Barry, I'm glad you enjoyed the place. You could be surprised by the number of uber-technies that show up at the G-Lodge, but the Website could be responsible for that. Ours dates back to when you had to actually submit your site to Yahoo for a human review and approval. The constant updating tends to encourage regular viewing, which also appeals to a techier than average crowd. 3) I'm also glad you managed to experience what is so cool about The Grey Lodge (and I take no credit other than not having screwed it up during 12 years) that people can arrive solo and meet friendly people. We have great people on both sides of the bar. 3) I have been full time at the bar (7 days a week) for 12 years and worked the cubicle job two days a week that whole time up until about a month ago. The bar is absorbing some that new time but so are a few other projects. I'm enjoying not being so rigidly scheduled. 4) Paul was really close, but it's Pat. Good memory. 5) An SSL tunnel seems to me like something that could get one in trouble with a large corp if they eventually found out.

Don't know why, I just liked that side better. Note on driving: Coming off 95, it was 2 turns on obvious streets and easy on street parking. About 3 minutes off the highway. Leaving is just as easy, ie: no screwed up 1 way streets forcing you to the wrong place.

You have to realize our group collectively, could probably open up a "Tech Company" and literally blow the competition out of the industry. We have quite a few people that are literally in the top 0.1% in the Industry, and Many many more from the top 1%. To list a few areas we have, in no particular order: Many of the best programmers in the world. In my opinion at least 10 (probably many more) from the top 0.1% A Plethora of others from the Top 1% in the world Many of the best System and Network Admins (Hardware and OS people) Many from the top .1% Many more from the top 1% in the world We have a plethora of Project Managers that just make things happen. Since I don't have any stick to measure by, me being a resource for PMs, I can't comment on quality, though my assumption and general ideas i get from abilities I have seen... Dem Sum Guud PMs here. We have people that are effectively able to GLUE anything together and have it work very well, this is a very rare trait, seems you might be one. literally the best (Tech) Supply chain people Sales end of things is well covered by many here There are MANY, MANY other areas I have not mentioned. Many of us can do just about anything we set our mind to. Some even specialize in things that many(other than we here) don't even know WHAT it is. I myself like to be considered a "Distinct Generalist". "Plenty" suggests we have "enough" pedants. Is that even a meaningful statement? To those who engage in and support pedantry, there can never be "enough" pedants: everyone should be a pedant. To those who prefer a less rigorous approach to everyday conversation, a single pedant is "too many". So how could there ever be "plenty"[1] of pedants? [1] This should probably read "'a plenty' of pedants", although if using the pronoun construction it would work as "'plenty' of them". Of the crowd that I expect to see on Friday night, we'll average about top 1% or so in what they do. But even better, he mentioned someone in another thanks, and put that person in the company of a couple of top shelf luminaries. He used to work for us.
