book review 1632 by Eric Flint
suspending a lot of belief on the science take a 6 square mile containing a small town in West Virginia and translant it with inhabitants to 1632 in the middle of the German province of Thiringia in the middle of the thirty year war. Led by the UMWA the mining union they seed the future of American style democracy. Other than the non explaination of how they got there the science thereafter is solid, and a great read. thanx, bill

Ahem...
Yeah, I kind of figured that. That's why there was not one, but two, clues to that effect in the previous post! :-)

that brings me to something I have always
wondered. When clues caught should they be aknowledged or left open. Never get a good feel one way or the other. thanx, bill

Liked the book
Although it *is* one of a number fairly recent "modern folks transported into the past" books. It's becoming a genre all its own. Stirlings "Island in the Sea of Time", "Against the Tide of Years", "On the Oceans of Eternity" have similar themes, only to the 14th century BC.
