New Interesting timing
Just got a phone call from my old sysadmin, the brilliant yet occasional volatile kid.
He's spent a few years in a bank, so he's gotten his business seasoning, and now might be looking.
I've forwarded the specs to him, I'll let you know if he's interested.
New Wow, thought you were going to say *you* were in the market
You and Box, working together ... frightening.

New All I can say to that is...
If Broom and Box worked at the same employer: I pity their competition.

Edit:
This message above could be interpreted at least 2 ways. The 2 I am thinking of, do apply.

New I'd love it
I tried pretty damn hard to bring Box in, but he rightly avoided the job and now is at a much better place than what I could offer.

Note: My buddy is probably accepting a new position within a day or so, so he's off the market.
New Oh, and a couple of weeks ago I thought I was
My boss's boss moved aside, and another took over.

I thought the guy was insane, but I've come to appreciate his insanity.

As I might have mentioned, before, brilliant, LOTS of industry experience, etc.

But I thought my particular skill set scared them and they did not want me to create anything that they would then depend on me to maintain, which is a reasonable attitude when you can't be sure an employee is going to stick around. On the other hand, I have a "junior" who is fine on maintaining my stuff. And others within the company are pushing hard for me to do things, which in turn puts me at odds with my own boss. Not a good position to be in.

I'll probably know for sure how it'll shake out in a couple of week (Beep bash time frame), but it seems to be OK.
