New Rove dodges charges
[link|http://today.reuters.com/news/newsArticle.aspx?type=newsOne&storyID=2006-06-13T122048Z_01_N13383762_RTRUKOC_0_US-BUSH-LEAK-ROVE.xml|Reuters]
White House aide Karl Rove, U.S. President George W. Bush's top political adviser, will not be charged in the CIA leak case, his lawyer said on Tuesday.

"On June 12, 2006, special counsel Patrick Fitzgerald formally advised us that he does not anticipate seeking charges against Karl Rove," Rove's lawyer, Robert Luskin, said in a statement.

This is coming from Rove's lawyer not Fitzgerald, but there is nothing contradicting it. Fitzgerald apparently is saying nothing, none of the articles I have seen so far have anything from Fitzgerald's office.

Rather disappointing, but you never know, Rove might not be guilty. More likely is that he has cut some deal with Fitzgerald, turning evidence to avoid prosecution. Most likely at this point seems to be that Rove is guilty, but Fitzgerald knows he can't prove it.

New Most-er likely
Fitzgerald knows that if he gets too close to Rove, el Jefe can always say he told Rove to leak it. Poof, it's no longer classified ("Even though we didn't tell anybody until way after the fact, hehe!"). And if he can't get Rove into an orange jumpsuit double-quick, Fitz knows he's just looking at a future pardon recipient anyway.

New Figure its a matter of evidence
The evidence is probably thin...some could be turned in the way you describe...alot of circumstantial that may or may not stand up in court.

This is what I expected to happen. Nearly identical to the Clinton investigation. Dig, continue to dig, find something marginal/not so marginal (depends on your politics/point of view)...publicize it...and the court of public opinion is where the trial occurs.

If you push something hard enough, it will fall over. Fudd's First Law of Opposition

I usually avoid being a grammar/spelling pedant, but you clearly misspelled “should be shot into the sun.”
