Had a brief email from him a day or two ago (he's on the Società italiana del cinematografo de punto di Adams monthly mailing list) begging off from next Saturday's screening of La Strada. If I had to guess, I'd say that he's just choosing to spend more time in the wider world of physical phenomena, but I can fold a discreet inquiry into my response. Certainly discourse here seems to lack something without regular episodes of Brownian motion to stir the pot...
