A power outage snarled rail traffic between Washington and New York City on Thursday morning, stranding thousands of commuters.

Seven commuter rail lines into Philadelphia were stopped and five others had their routes shortened slightly. The lines that were shut down served Delaware, New Jersey and the city's Pennsylvania suburbs.

Train I was on was in the convention center station when the power went out, had to walk to work from there.

Actually third day riding the rail into work. Had to lull me into a false sense of security before pulling the rug out from under me.

I suppose I was lucky really, the train had just started to pull out from the convention center station when the power died. A few minutes either way and I would have been in a tunnel and probably stuck until they got the power back on.
