Welcome to IWETHEY!

New Well, not so much the wearing
as walking past a mirror and noticing I look like a grownup. I've been wearing the computer guy uniform for a long time, I'm tired of looking like a slob.

And this is that heavily gender-tilted company. I enjoy the compliments on my appearance.

With the right size collar, it isn't too bad. I did get a rash the first day - brand new unwashed shirt and the tie adding just enough pressure.

New Funny, I've gone t'other way. So to speak.
In so far as, 11 years of wearing ties at my old job, to them being optional at my current job. Since I own somewhere around 60 ties, they've suddenly become a wasted investment, of sorts!

Still, when I did have to wear them, being able to go 12 weeks without wearing the same tie twice was fun.

New I'm sorta in the same boat
Every year I'd go to a local clothing warehouse sale (for a change, really held in a warehouse!) and, while looking at shirts, slacks, etc. would always pick up the most outrageous ties I could find. By the time I started working at a no-tie job, I had quite the collection.

New Another glorious day...
was the day I didn't have to wear a tie anymore, after a truly mind-numbing stint at the Woolworth Central Accounting Office.

It's entirely a matter of perspective.

And I seriously doubt anyone would give me a problem if I were to skip the tie from time to time, or wear an interesting one. Nobody said I had to wear one.

New I'd advise skipping it now and then
Like, on casual Fridays or whatever - just to remind the minions that you're human :)
On and on and on and on,
and on and on and on goes John.
New Absolutely
That's the neat thing about it being my choice.
