Welcome to IWETHEY!

New Ah. That's a 64-bit PCI card, that is.
No, I don't know if it will work in common-or-garden-variety 32-bit PCI slot.

New it had sure better work in normal slots
If it doesn't, then someone has done a wonderful job of screwing up the spec. I've got cards in my dev box at work that are 66Mhz, 64-bit cards stuck in "lowly" 33Mhz, 32-bit slots.

New It is. Google suggests autodetection is norm
...that is, 64 bits should work in 32 bit slot. I'll report results after building up the 8x60GB RAID array ;-)

What part of "gestalt" don't you understand?
New Yup. It's good to go in 32 bit
My Adaptec 29160 is like that. Works fine in a 32 bit system but only moves 80 mb/s instead of 160. It's advertized to do 160 in a 64 bit PCI system.

Hugh
