There are two connections. First of all it is about Bonnie Prince Charlie. Secondly the chorus includes, Carry the lad that's a-born to be king/Over the sea to Skye. So after that song, my bonnie (prince Charlie) lies over the ocean!
BTW I've felt bad all of this time bringing up songs that nobody else probably knew and just saying, "Traditional". I'm glad to see someone else doing it.
