New Pistashios again
My local store has bags of pistashios, labeled "Imported" but a hand lettered sign taped up to the shelf said "Iranian Pistashios".

Do you suppose Iran traded them to somebody for uranium centrifuges? Maybe Halliburton? Anyway, they're quite plump with distinctly reddish skins over the green kernels.

New I thought we weren't allowed to have those
Now I've got to check the local markets.

Love them things.

New 'Allowed' and 'available' are two different concepts.
Of course what you can get at your local market and what I can get at my local market may differ. My local market serves large local communities from India, Persia, Russia, Turkey, the "Stans" and the Near East. It's run by Armenians who understand the Soviet era distinction between "buy" and "obtain".
