OK, there's the first one.
You can turn the ads off in the User Preferences panel.
Comments on placing, color, etc. are extremely welcome.

Looks fine so far. Very unobtrusive.
I'm not sure I understand the Jokes banner at the top though. A couple of the links seem to be empty.
I turned off AdBlock-ing of [link|http://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/show_ads.js|http://pagead2.googl...agead/show_ads.js] Is that the only googlesyndication page I need to expose (or should I make it pagead*.googlesyndication.com/ etc)?
I wouldn't object to having the ads on the Forum or even Comment pages as well if it helps raise some more $$.
Is it correct to assume that doing the twiki will be more work (since the pages can be edited)?
Thanks for working on this.
What's your PayPal account? :-)
Cheers, Scott.

Re: Looks fine so far. Very unobtrusive.
I have no clue why that always shows links to Jokes sites.
Google Ads works by determining the most applicable ads from the content of the page. For some reason it thinks the board page is funny. :-P
pagead2.google.com is the server they gave me. That should be sufficient.
There will be ads on the other pages as well. I'm tailoring them for each layout. Note that only ads that are clicked upon earn money. Merely showing up on the page isn't sufficient.
I don't know how the Twiki works; I would assume that ads can be added permanently to the headers.

I'll be turning adblock off then
Note that only ads that are clicked upon earn money. Merely showing up on the page isn't sufficient. I'll try to make it habit to click on an ad at least once a page load.

Don't overdo it.
I'm sure they track that, and if they see the majority of clicks coming from a single IP they may disable the account.

Funny looking, maybe.
I'd click on an ad, but I'm afraid the fart button will eat my brain.

Looks good. Maybe right-align the top ad?
Though I noticed that might interfere with the New Topic button if you decide to add them to individual forum pages.

The one up top leads to a Google-hosted page of ads (=links)
I imagine Bill's question is, did you mean it would be sufficient to click the link that leads TO that page, or should we click a link ON that page?

Oh! No clue.
I'm not allowed to click anything myself, so I didn't know what that one did. I would presume that you would actually have to click on of the links in the page of links, but I don't know for sure.
