I had a training class for the last 3 days. Was sitting at a Windows PC. The actual training was far more observing the other people and paying limited attention, while trying to do my work.
This meant lots of Putty interaction with various Linux/Solaris systems. Damn, I missed my KDE desktop.
I thought about installing X / Cygwin on the Windows PC. I have an X CD-ROM based runtime / install disk.
But they removed the CDs from our training PCs.
Grr.
And then I stumbled across a small Linux distribution on FreshMeat. Optimized for low end PCs.
