Please remind me...
to stay around well-educated East and West coast people. It sounds safer than going somewhere where I'm not wanted, like the Midwest or South.
Actually, I think you just did.
Cheers, Ben

It's interesting to compare state Wikipedia entries.
E.g. [link|http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/South_Dakota#Religion|South Dakota]: 91% Christian, 8% non-religious
Versus
[link|http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Massachusetts#Religion|Massachusetts] 79% Christian, 17% non-religious
Versus
[link|http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Utah#Religion|Utah]: 81% Christian, 18% non-religious
It explains (maybe poorly, maybe well) some of the recent legislative activity in some of the states. Maybe more atheists should move to South Dakota. :-)
Cheers, Scott.

Also, Ben...
in the article:
[...]
"Many of the study\ufffds respondents associated atheism with an array of moral indiscretions ranging from criminal behavior to rampant materialism and cultural elitism."
Criminal behavior? In the Midwest?

You may have missed my point
I'm an atheist.
I prefer to live places where this fact does not cause people to either dislike me, or to waste energy trying to convert me.
