I don't think it is.
Apple doesn't want to get into the Windows PC market, because it can't compete there, and wouldn't want to even if it could. Look at what Dell and HPaq have to turn out in order to compete - systems pared to the bone, a just-in-time supply chain that would make your hair curl, and margins thinner than a fag paper. Not a fun place to be.
Apple doesn't sell PCs, it sells Macs. Macs don't run Windows. They run OS X. That's the deal, and that's what we suckers^Wusers pay the premium for. If Mac users wanted Windows, they could do it a lot cheaper elsewhere.
Office 2004 exists. That's enough to keep me "compatible" with Windows users. And, to be honest, it's much nicer than the Windows version.
