How the pious should treat non-Muslims is not specified but paragraph does suggest demonstrate by example. That is, showing the value of Islam and letting non-believers condemn themselves. As the ignorant also receive hell, this suggests that the just Muslim has to locate and preach to the ignorant, to give them that choice.
