First (Merry Christmas) Post!
Well, I'm about 15 seconds in to Christmas Day. So it's as good a time as any to wish you and yours a Merry Christmas.
So have a tops one, yeah?
Me, I'm back to my very own christmas tradition - wrapping presents 'til half-past-ungodly in the morning.
Enjoy!

Ho, Ho, Ho.
It's sunny and supposed to be 57F here today. The last bit of ice in our yard may finally vanish today - leaving us with a green Christmas. 13.75 hours to go...
Happy wishes to everyone!
Cheers, Scott.

Here in the 'winter hemisphere' . . .
. . we had 85°F yesterday. It was only supposed to hit about 70°F today but I'm pretty sure it was higher.

It was chillier in Long Beach
Sam has a fairly serious chest cold, so between the weather and trying to keep him from getting sicker, we decided to really bundle him before his walk.

"Chicago to my mind was the only place to be. ... I above all liked the city because it was filled with people all a-bustle, and the clatter of hooves and carriages, and with delivery wagons and drays and peddlers and the boom and clank of freight trains. And when those black clouds came sailing in from the west, pouring thunderstorms upon us so that you couldn't hear the cries or curses of humankind, I liked that best of all. Chicago could stand up to the worst God had to offer. I understood why it was built--a place for trade, of course, with railroads and ships and so on, but mostly to give all of us a magnitude of defiance that is not provided by one house on the plains. And the plains is where those storms come from." -- E.L. Doctorow

I went to bed that night at 2:30.
I think that's the latest I've *ever* been awake on Christmas Eve!

Thats the earliest since kids
Things need assembling...others need wrapping...and Santa needs to get everything under the tree once he's certain the little ones are fast asleep.
These things take time.
