I would be more inclined to call them "reactionary".
Now the news pages are a different matter for a very strong reason - traditionally the Wall Street Journal's editors are not allowed to control the front page - the journalists can put pretty much what they want there.
This policy was deliberate and made the Wall Street Journal the success it is - the only business publication business people can actually trust to have some touch with reality.
It was really funny back in Reagan's presidency, the editorial pages praised "Supply Side Economics" to the high heavens, while the jounos wrote articles about the depradations of "Supply Side" on the front page.
If you want total unadulterated reactionary and a "robber baron" mentality try Dow Jones' other paper, Barons.
