New AIX has the patch, but don't make it permanent option
I so wish I had that possibility in Windows...

Hell even kernel patching and library replacement was that way.

Oh, I miss that so much... even in Linux. In AIX you could manually remove committed patches... but it was fugly and not for the feint of heart... (yes I know)

A patch application, management and commit solution for any linux Distribution would boost it even faster. Yes there are some pieces of it out there, but they don't work very well together.

And the short answer for M$ Windows and that... it is more a manual solution.

There are other examples of things in AIX getting into Warp, like the tcpip stack and jfs.
