Right after VisiCalc let you plug in the profits and start changing the other boxes, our earliest wet-behind-ears new MBAs began angling for that corner office via brilliant papers to the CIEIO. Essays advocating the commoditization of employees, changing to part-time - and moving 'personnel' onto the Debit side of the ledger - appear to have resonated with those Next-quarter-only executives, like 'ol Chainsaw.
(Now where's that chart which shows CIEIO / drone pay ratios, from the '70s to now?)
Bizness has been Efficient in adopting these 'innovative' ideas, if in little else.
(And I note that there is still no general awareness of any need to balance the societal/infrastructure contribution to all that skimmed wealth - with appropriate biz tax rules, so long overdue.)
Why.. such a reform might even keep that Ad-fodder sufficiently-able to buy the stuff our now Remarketing Caste *must* move. Damn - that would even be Logical, but -
I suppose it will be another Vietnam, Iraq redux; wait for so much deterioration that revolution is the only resort. I'd bet $$ on that non-solution; it's become a habit. Dysfunctional are we.
Maybe we just aren't ready for self government? Some adolescents need more than 200 years to mature; die before ever becoming adult, actually..
