Astros -- White Sox 14th INNING!
This is an unbelievable game... the Astros and White Sox have been tied 5-5 since the 8th inning, I believe, and we're currently in the top of the 14th inning tonight!
The Astros pulled off a Double Play last inning, and now they just did it again, to have TWO outs already at the top of the inning! Wheeee!
Owls are GLUED to the TV!
EEEK! White Sox just took a 1 run lead... but we still have TIME! If I remember right, Astros get to bat last after this and see what happens.
And the hit was made by a former Astro Geoff Blum! I remember him when he was an ASTRO!

AUUUGH! they lost in the 14th!
Astros lost, score was 7-5, but MAN, what an amazing game that was!!!!!
Now the Sox are up three games to none, and are one game away from taking the World Series.
My Texas Team better step up to the plate, quick!
But man, am I ever having a ball with this series! This is great!
Edit: Not to mention, it's been History in the making! This is the longest game in history. I'm not sure if they mean regular season or Series, but none-the-less, they said it was the longest game ever in history. Wow!

World Series history
I know of one regular season game that went 18 innings.

Thanks for clarifying that!
I had to have the TV down so low at 1:30 a.m. that I couldn't hear what they were discussing about it, but they had flashed a scroll across the screen that said Longest Game in History (so I wasn't sure which history).
Makes sense that it's World Series History, though!

That about wraps it up.
The Astros pitchers didn't show up for the World Series. Clemens came up lame in game 1. Pettite's good showing was upstaged by another blown save by Lidge. And Oswalt wasn't quite on (5th inning was brutal to watch). And the Astros team without good pitching is just a mediocre team at best.

Yes, it could
It could be all over tonight, it seems.
But you have to admit, it's been a really exciting series, anyway. :)
Course we can always hope for a miracle. ;)

Even Da housewives had better ratings.

Well that just proves
that they don't know what they are missing!
Last night, it was so quiet in the stadium, it was awesome. People all over the stands were praying, hands clasped in front of them. Others were biting nails, holding their heads in their hands, yelling support. Every eye was glued to the field.. even the announcers were in extreme excited suspense.
So even if the Astros go down tonight, this will be a series to remember!

Only series remembered are ones where favorite teams played
For me '87 and '91. And the only thing I remember is that the Twins played and won. Think the beat Atlanta one of those series. Don't recall the other, St. Louis maybe? Dunno.
Couldn't even tell you who played last year.

That makes sense
But for me, I guess it's History that makes me remember. I remember the I-70 series, (think it was in 1987 or 1984 somewhere around there). I don't remember the dates, dates are like math with me, and often desert my brain. But, I remember it was the Cardinals and the Royals. I remember my guy John Tudor was the Cardinal pitcher I liked most, and I remember he was up against Brett Saberhagen who was my favorite Royal.
That was an awesome series too, made history also because it was the first MO game played between MO teams in the World Series (if I recall).
So this one, the one the Astros waited for for 44 years, will join my historical memories of baseball. :)

Yep, thanks!
I have my T-shirt from that put away somewhere, but it has all the team names on the back and both teams logos on the front. :)
Are the Twinkie's the Twins?

Yes, Twinkies == Twins (unless they're winning)

Speaking of T-shirts
Got my new one delivered today, John bought it for me for my birthday next week!
It's black with the Astros' star logo, and says:
Houston... We Have A World Series! 2005
YEAH! And it's true, whether they had won or lost, they did get there!
