...the Saudi and Jordanian monarchies and the Egyptian military establishment don't necessarily hinge on U.S. support. If anything, Saddam Hussein taught us that he was quite adept at staying in power both when we supported him and long after we did everything in our power to get rid of him. Only a full invasion was capable of removing him from power. If the U.S. ever turned against these other countries, it's unlikely that a single regime would change (short of the U.S. invading that country).
