...will surely be answered honestly and fully, and in the -- fully justified, AFAICS -- conviction that they need fear no criminal charges whatsoever. For another, nobody else that I know of(*) has sent in regular troops to free such criminals from a police force that the regular troops' own government itself set up. Which is it, *are* people supposed to obey the law-enforcement force the occupiers set up, or are they not?
Anyway, I thought "Special Forces" meant the guys who do stuff that is *militarily* difficult-but-vital, and that the ones who do espionage, "black ops" and state-sponsored terrorism of the kind these guys were apparently engaging in were called "spooks"(+). Honourable soldiers do NOT need to hide behind bullshit like "there will be no comment".
Hmm... So, come to think about it, maybe people were wrong to look up to the Brits, a la "They know how to handle terrorists; they've been dealing with the IRA for decades." If this is how they behaved -- being just as bad as, or worse than, any ordinary terrorist -- then maybe it's no wonder it *took* them fucking decades to subdue the Micks. In the light of this latest stunt, Paddy's grievances are taking on a distinctly more justified sheen.
(*): Well, I obviously don't know what all the Yanks have ever done.
(+)Or, of course, "state-sponsored terrorists".
