Imric's Tips for Living
  • Paranoia Is a Survival Trait
  • Pessimists are never disappointed - but sometimes, if they are very lucky, they can be pleasantly surprised...
  • Even though everyone is out to get you, it doesn't matter unless you let them win.

Nothing is as simple as it seems in the beginning,
As hopeless as it seems in the middle,
Or as finished as it seems in the end.

New Re: Schrodinger's Cat Explained . . .(per Terry P.)
Everyone's heard of Erwin Schrodinger's famous thought experiment. You put
a cat in a box with a bottle of poison, which many people would suggest is
about as far as you need to go.
-- (Terry Pratchett, The Unadulterated Cat)

In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the
cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat
could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.
-- Schrodinger's Moggy explained
(Terry Pratchett, Lords and Ladies)

- "Remember -- that which does not kill us can only make us stronger."
- "And that which *does* kill us leaves us *dead*!"
