I thought he was actually dead & someone was moving his lips for him (Ruskies got away with that stunt for months with both president Brezenev then president Kosygin). El-Jazzera were said to have received the tape several days earlier but had held it back for undisclosed reasons. One possibility is that they had been told to play it after a new strike had been struck against America circa last week but it didn't happen so they then played the tape. The likely event was a rushed suicide mission to show OBL still could pull the tiger's tail whilst on the run (this being the dumbo bumbling idiot brit who failed to blast both his & our socks off on his way to US (no thanks to the f-ing froggies). Am guessing OBL was expecting it to succeed so did the tape in advance & rushed it to El-Jazzera. Am also willing to believe OBL is ill & dying - if not already dead. He looked so sick on that blurb. Anyway if he isn't super sick am sure his dreams well and truly are. Cheers Doug M
Post #22,587 by Ric Locke 12/28/01 11:03:35 AM Reply	Looking sick may be lighting One of the Freepers (yes, I know; ::sigh::) pointed out that somebody behind the camera may have thrown the wrong switch. Having the camcorder set for the wrong lighting compensation could give much of the impression of illness. And yes, he's being rushed, so may not have had time to brush a little Grecian Formula through his beard and generally clean up for the video. That being said, it's also been noted that he didn't move his left arm much, and he's said to be left-handed. All in all, this is a man who's been under severe pressure. (IInowRC). Twas Chernenko & Andropov who were the other two short lived pupets who they kept alive with pupet strings (grin). Andropov actually paved the way for Gorbachev to later become pres after Chern - it seems that they finally wanted a prez that would live for more than a year. So many years ago the memories are a bit faded. Doug
