New Looking for a PHP application development environment
Considering moving some Cold Fusion apps to PHP.
Have a Cold Fusion developer.
When Windows desktop PHP development environments are available that anyone here has experience with and can recommend we try?
New Go to the source
[link|http://zend.com|Zend], the people who make PHP, make an IDE. Those who like that sort of thing seemed to like it just fine. Me, I like vim, but I'm weird like that.

Obligatory side note on IDEs: I think they're probably great for rapid development of completely new apps, but get in the way when you have an established framework. So for a ColdFusion guy going over to PHP it's probably a good idea.

Oh, I think the IDE's written in Java. FWIW

Downloaded, started to examine
New Maguma

I used this on Windows for a while at a past job, and it seemed workable. I have not tried the entire Maguma Workbench though, just the free Studio part.

New Thanks
Can you compare it to zend?
New No
Never used the Zend studio. At the job where I used Maguma the primary critera was that it was free.

That remindes me, look here [link|http://www.php-editors.com/|PHP-Editors]. Entire site dedicated to PHP development tools.
