Interesting speculation of OS X on PCs
[link|http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,1895,1845259,00.asp|Apple on the Brink] In the wings is waiting a shrink-wrapped upgrade that works perfectly on older machines. A public announcement comes. "It works on machines that Microsoft Vista won't run on!" says Jobs. The crowd goes wild.

is. was?
I agree with you. But Apple has pulled some surprises recently. They're a company in transition. The question is, transition to what? and what options does that open up for them.

Geeks will always find a way.

Yup.
But will Apple be able to find a way to let more than a few geeks run it without killing their hardware business? Will they even tolerate more than a few geeks running it?
I doubt that Apple will have such a change-of-heart anytime soon. Unless, perhaps, they include OSX86 that can be run on a non-Apple Mac86 when you buy a new MacMini or something. That would be interesting, wouldn't it....
Cheers, Scott.

Somewhere in Cupertino is a rabbit in a six-colored hat
I have no idea what kind of rabbit though.
