is that the other UN members are unlikely to take him seriously knowing he's likely a short timer who was ram rodded into place. This will render him fairly ineffective relative to a longer term delegate who has the full support of his government.

IOW, I think he's gonna get the brush off from the rest of the UN for the majority of his term.

New nope, he will get in line at the trough like everyone else
that post is an errand boy who gets lavish tips. Only reason he is there.
