Pat Robertson says he warned Bush war would be ugly
[link|http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2004/10/20/politics/main650331.shtml|CBS] Religious broadcaster Pat Robertson says he warned President Bush before U.S. troops invaded Iraq that the United States would sustain casualties but that Mr. Bush responded, "Oh, no, we're not going to have any casualties." Robertson, in an interview with CNN that aired Tuesday night, said God had told him the war would be messy and a disaster. When he met with Mr. Bush in Nashville, Tenn., before the war Mr. Bush did not listen to his advice, Robertson said, and believed Saddam Hussein was an evil tyrant who needed to be removed.
"He was just sitting there, like, 'I'm on top of the world,' and I warned him about this war," Robertson said.
"I had deep misgivings about this war, deep misgivings. And I was trying to say, 'Mr. President, you better prepare the American people for casualties.' 'Oh, no, we're not going to have any casualties.' 'Well,' I said, 'it's the way it's going to be.' And so, it was messy. The Lord told me it was going to be, A, a disaster and, B, messy." Weird. I would say he is trying to distance himself from the White House a bit, but with Robertson you can never tell. Jay

The right needs a scapegoat . . .
. . and is starting to groom one, and his name is George W. Bush - lame duck.

Your right
The article actually dates from last year. I don't remember seeing it before, and CBS has a confusing format that puts the current date and time near the top of every page in a way that sorta looks like it is the date for the current article. I do always check the date on news articles I post for exactly this reason, it's very easy to confuse something historical for current news.

Ignoring a lunatic is news?
Good grief! Someone believes that a sky god literally talks to him and he still gets air time. As it's unpatriotic to laugh about Bush, people laugh about Robertson instead. That's evil.

Choose good health, low cholesterol, and dental insurance. Choose fixed interest mortgage repayments. Choose a starter home. Choose your friends. Choose leisurewear and matching luggage. Choose DIY and wondering who the fuck you are on a Sunday morning. Choose sitting on that couch watching mind-numbing, spirit-crushing game shows, stuffing fucking junk food into your mouth. Choose rotting away at the end of it all, pishing your last in a miserable home, nothing more than an embarrassment to the selfish, fucked up brats you spawned to replace yourself. Choose your future. Choose life... But why would I want to do a thing like that? I chose not to choose life. I chose somethin' else. And the reasons? There are no reasons.
