Welcome to IWETHEY!

New everything old is new again
The linked image is of a poster that has lately appeared in the stations and trains of the commuter line running between Baltimore and Washington. It's heartening to see that our graphic designers are borrowing from the best when it comes time to ramp up public vigilance against wreckers, saboteurs, Trotskyites, counterrvolutionaries, rootless cosmopolitans and foreign spies. Comrades, I give you [link|http://www.mdrails.com/images/marc_marshal.jpg|Watch, Ride and Report!], and aren't those some kinda resolute jawlines!

guardedly,
Die Welt ist alles, was der Fall ist.
New I feel a welling of civic duty...
...in the heart of my being simply from viewing these. (Or is it nausea?)
jb4
shrub\ufffdbish (Am., from shrub + rubbish, after the derisive name for America's 43 president; 2003) n. 1. a form of nonsensical political doubletalk wherein the speaker attempts to defend the indefensible by lying, obfuscation, or otherwise misstating the facts; GIBBERISH. 2. any of a collection of utterances from America's putative 43rd president. cf. BULLSHIT

New Speaking of jaws...
I'm picking mine up off the ground right now.

Man, that artist must have a HUGE brass pair - I have an image of some guy sneaking that by his manager to show what he thinks of the idea.
Aleph-null bottles of beer on the wall, aleph-null bottles of beer.
You take one down, you pass it around,
Aleph-null bottles of beer on the wall!
New I have a german co-worker who I asked to tell
me what country this was from. He stated "the artwork originated with the Nazi's and was embraced and extended by the Soviets. You see the depersonalization in the faces in subordination to the state."

His jaw fell on the floor when I showed him the text of your message.
thanx,
bill

New I feel the ethnic purity coursing through my veins
But it's "Homeland", not "Fatherland". It's less syllables, see. So it's completely different.

It would seem, therefore, that the three human impulses embodied in religion are fear, conceit, and hatred. The purpose of religion, one might say, is to give an air of respectibility to these passions. -- Bertrand Russell

New Not at all
I like to think that the artist is a kindred spirit, and, having been assigned the disagreeable task of pimping for Miniluv, took this oblique way of registering contempt for the entire undertaking.

A little lesson from life: my professional responsibilities involve me in dealing now and again with the uniformed personnel of the former "U.S. Customs Service," lately chopped up and reconstituted as "Customs and Border Protection." Some months back I had three customs inspectors (now "CBP Officers") on my premises, and one noticed a [link|http://homepage.mac.com/rcareaga/iron_felicks.jpg|large poster] on my wall (the linked image is identical except that the printed copy has the "Department of Homeland Security" chop in the blank spot upper left, and includes the exhortation "REPORT THOUGHTCRIME: call 1-800-OCEANIA" at the bottom. This attentive officer said, without apparent irony, "Keeping the dream alive. Yeah, that's right," and one of his companions, a female, assented. The third said nothing, and contrived to linger in my office after his companions had left. "That's Felix Dzerzhinsky, isn't it?" he demanded. "Y-e-e-s," I responded cautiously. "Gawd," he hissed, "what a couple of clowns." Made my day.

cordially,
Die Welt ist alles, was der Fall ist.

While it's still a crap shoot.. just how much longer the Eloi shall tolerate the Neomalefactors, how many more assassins those drones shall further spawn worldwide - I do hope that some of the older folk, espying that Marc Marshall cartoon on a daily commute -

Shall also Get It, shall remember back to the Beer Hall putsch, Tailgunner Joe with his (own) laundry list of Commies and - this time around - get off their well-padded commuter asses. Maybe tear-down that Sucker !? (for a start)

Still and all, though - -

Blessed are those who expect nothing, for never shall they be disappointed.
