Welcome to IWETHEY!

New The wheel bearing's fine. Needs a rear McPherson strut.
I checked it out today. It's still a little noisier turning left than right, but it's nothing serious with the wheel bearing. On removing the wheel and checking for play, nothing was found to be loose or noisy. The CV boots are fine all around too.

It still feels very squirrelly on the highway though, especially going over bumps.

I didn't see anything amiss when I looked underneath, and the tires looked fine, so I bounced the 4 corners. The retral sinistral / left rear / driver's side rear bounces about 4 times before it stops. The other 3 corners go down, bounce up and then stop, as they should. It's clear it needs a rear McPherson strut. I'm sure it'll be much more pleasant when that's replaced (with its right-hand mate as they need to be replaced in pairs). That probably means an alignment too as the car has an IRS.

[edit:] tyop.

Cheers,
Scott.

New Noisy wheel bearings will drive you nuts before failure.

New Too late. ;-)
I've wanted her to get something newer for quite a while. She doesn't notice anything wrong with it, and still loves it (especially since it's paid-off).

Cheers,
Scott.

New Really a McPherson strut, or just a shock absorber?
I don't know much about '93 Corollas, specifically -- especially not retro-sinister ones -- but I'm fairly sure most cars only have those (in-)famous strut assemblies up front; in the rear, it's usually still separate shock absorbers.

If I am right, this will give you the double satisfaction of not only having flummoxed me -- for, oh, several seconds at least :-) -- but, perhaps more significantly, saving a lot of money over what you'd have to pay if it really were a pair of McPherson struts you were paying for.

Your lies are of Microsoftian Scale and boring to boot. Your 'depression' may be the closest you ever come to recognizing truth: you have no 'inferiority complex', you are inferior - and something inside you recognizes this. - [link|http://z.iwethey.org/forums/render/content/show?contentid=71575|Ashton Brown]
New Struts.
E.g. [link|http://www.masterautoparts.com/index.php/cPath/42_2015_208776|Here]. (The same part is listed for the 1993 Corolla.)

Yeah, it would be nice if they were shocks instead. Thanks.

Cheers,
Scott.
New Teh Sukc. Sorry (and bewildered!) to see that. Oh well.
New Geez.
GM has had Struts in the Midsized unibodies since the mid to late 80's, Smaller cars since the early 80's (that is at all 4 corners)

And don;t tell me GM is on the up and up or leading edge. They haven't been for 25 years.
